Recently we’ve been flooded with men and women from outside the United States who have attempted to contact members for the purpose of scamming them out of money. We have been monitoring this traffic and frankly, we’re fed up! Nigerian and Russian based con artists are attacking singles and using online dating sites to try and steal money from you.

MSNBC has published a story you should all read by CLICKING HERE which outlines one such scam in detail.

We’ve decided to purge all profiles which we believe are suspect based on their location based on some web intelligence tools we have purchased. Moving forward we will only allow profiles from the United States, Canada, Australia and the U.K.

Thank you for your understanding. Please, please, don’t send money to anyone you meet on this or any other online dating site.

We have a cool feature on this site that allows you to see who viewed your profile. It is located on the myHome page, about half way down in the center column. Look for Your Current Stats this section has all types of cool information in it.

Ok, if you're not getting a lot of views each day there are a couple of things you should look at:

#1 - Is your profile completed? At a minimum, you need to answer your essay questions. But keep in mind, if you don't answer all of the basic questions and the What I'm Looking For section, our match engine will NOT include you in search results. So no one will know you even exist!

#2 - Add a picture to your profile. If you're shy, place a trust level on your photo and only people in your myFriends list will actually be able to see your photo. However, we will display your results even when people say "With Photos Only". So you really have nothing to lose by posting your photo. BTW, if you are going to post a photo make sure you brush your hair and SMILE. The biggest complaint we receive from our members is about the photos looking like they came from the FBI Most Wanted Site. No excuse to not have a decent photo anymore, you can use a cheap camera from Wal-Mart and for an extra $3, Wal-Mart will give you your photos on CD. You can always email your photos to support@Coolintros.com as well, and we'll crop them and post them for you - at no charge of course.

Finally, let me point out if you want to view other profiles and not have the other person know it, you can control this behavior in the preferences section which is located at the bottom of all of our pages on this site.

Coolintros.com went up on Friday, October 22, 2004. We wanted to create a site that focused more on chemistry and less on computer matchmaking. Let me explain, we use the computer to help organize our members and we do have profile questions and advance searching - we just didn't get carried away with it.

This site is really about CHEMISTRY and MEETING PEOPLE! That means if you're not going to add a picture to your profile, then you should try another site. Pictures matter here, people are unique, people are different and we welcome the difference. You can post up to 16 pictures, use the trust levels to add private picture if you wish too. If you're shy, add a picture, set a trust level on it and add people to your myFriends list and only those people will see your picture.

Please email all your friends and tell them about Coolintros.com! Tell people about us in chat rooms. Post a note in your blogs and message boards!
